Alexis Forrey, M.A.
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Alexis Forrey joins West Valley Counseling Center as both a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and Professional Clinical Counselor Intern. She received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Alexis has worked both administratively and clinically in the mental health field; specifically working with disordered eating, substance abuse, and other co-occurring disorders. While at Pacifica, Alexis’s education was grounded in depth psychology; looking at our unconscious and the underlying causes of “why we do what we do” even though we are generally not aware of it. Alexis has also received intensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) from the Behavioral Tech Institute and is able to incorporate her knowledge of depth psychology into the skills taught in DBT. Alexis believes that therapy is not about diagnoses or "one method fits all," but rather about building a connection and creating a safe and comfortable space for healing

If you want to see the future... touch a life."
