Lisa J. Hacken
Lisa was born in Savannah, GA, grew up in Los Angeles, and then spent 19 years in New York City before returning to LA. She received a B.A. in English from Pepperdine University and an M.A. in American Studies with a concentration in American literature from Columbia University. After more than 20 years working as an editor of nonfiction and academic reference works in the publishing industry, Lisa decided to pursue her lifelong interest in psychology and desire to be a therapist and is completing her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Lisa aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which to foster self-exploration and to build a connection with clients that can promote understanding, growth, and change. Lisa believes in an integrative approach that supports each individual’s situation, needs, and desires.
