Medha Mohan

Medha is a pre-licensed MFT graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Western Institute for Social Research (WISR). Before entering the mental health field, she spent many years in marketing and consulting, in India and then in New York, working closely with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds. These experiences nurtured a curiosity about people, relationships, and the different ways individuals navigate their lives and build resilience, ultimately contributing to her path toward becoming a therapist.

Medha was born and raised in India, moved to New York to study, and now calls Thousand Oaks home, where she lives with her husband. As an immigrant, she relates to adapting to new environments while staying connected to values and traditions central to one's identity. This has given her a personal appreciation for cultural integration and belonging. Family and caregiving are also deeply meaningful to her, influenced in part by her experience supporting and learning from a nephew on the autism spectrum. As a breast cancer survivor, her experience has deepened her understanding of resilience, uncertainty, and unexpected life transitions. Throughout these experiences, faith and spiritual practice have remained a guiding light in her life.

Medha takes a person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to therapy that is culturally grounded. She strives to offer a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported as they navigate relationships, identity, caregiving, life transitions, or other periods of change and uncertainty. Medha is bilingual in Hindi and English. Outside of professional life, Medha enjoys spending time with family, good food and staying active.
