Michael Jones

I am a pre-licensed MFT student therapist. I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and I am currently completing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Touro University.

Professionally, I bring a unique background that includes professional coaching, business, and creative industries. As a professional pickleball coach for over two years, I’ve developed strong people skills and the ability to connect with individuals across different walks of life. My time in the music and entertainment industry also shaped me into a well-rounded communicator, able to build trust and meet people where they are. In community mental health, I had the privilege of working with undocumented folks, diverse individuals and families through  mentorship, campaigns and advocacy.

Culturally, I proudly embrace a rich heritage of being both African and Mexican American. I speak fluent Spanish and remain deeply in tune with what it means to embrace both of these cultures in today’s world. Having lived in several states across the U.S. has allowed me to connect authentically with people from all backgrounds.

On a personal note, I believe therapy is about joining clients on their journey, whatever destination they may be headed toward. My approach is to “get in the car with them,” walking alongside their challenges with empathy and support. I feel a strong calling to do this work, shaped by my own difficult childhood and my desire to create impact in my communities and beyond. My goal is to provide a safe space, guidance, and encouragement for individuals, couples, and families, with a clinical focus on working with African American and Latin American populations.

I look forward to connecting and supporting you on your path toward growth and healing.
